"How much will I save?" is the first question every homeowner asks. The honest answer is that it depends on your home — but four factors decide most of it.

1. Your system size

A bigger system generates more power, but the sweet spot is matching generation to what your home can use. Our SAA-accredited designers size your system to your actual usage and roof, not a one-size-fits-all package.

2. When you use your power

Solar generates during the day. If you're home and running appliances, pool pumps or air-conditioning then, you use that free power directly — the biggest saving of all. If you're out all day, a battery makes a huge difference (see below).

3. Whether you add a battery

Without a battery, surplus daytime solar is exported to the grid for a small feed-in tariff (often around 5c/kWh). A battery stores that energy so you use it at night instead of buying grid power at 30–50c/kWh — a much bigger saving.

4. Your electricity rate

The higher your tariff, the more every kilowatt of solar is worth. With NSW power prices where they are, the value of self-generated power has never been higher.
