Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about going solar with Solterra. Can't find your answer? Just give us a call.

How much does a solar system cost?

Cost depends on system size, the panel and battery brands you choose, and your roof. After federal STC discounts and any eligible rebates, most residential solar systems are surprisingly affordable. We provide a free, itemised quote with all rebates already applied so you see your real price.

What rebates and incentives am I eligible for?

Most NSW homeowners qualify for federal Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) on solar, and there are battery incentives available too. We assess your eligibility and apply every discount you qualify for directly to your quote — no paperwork headaches.

How long does installation take?

Most residential solar installations are completed in a single day. Larger systems or solar-plus-battery installs may take a little longer. We'll confirm timing with you before booking your install date.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar?

Yes. We can add a compatible battery to most existing solar systems, or design a complete new solar-and-battery solution from scratch. We'll check your current setup and recommend the best option.

What warranties do I get?

Tier-1 panels typically come with 25-year performance warranties, with separate manufacturer warranties on inverters and batteries, plus our own workmanship warranty. We explain every warranty clearly in your quote.

Which brands do you install?

We install trusted, industry-leading brands including Tesla Powerwall, Sigenergy, Sungrow, Fronius, FoxESS, GoodWe, AlphaESS, Sofar, BYD and EcoFlow. We'll recommend the best fit for your home and budget.

What areas do you service?

We service Sydney Metro and Greater NSW. Contact us with your postcode and we'll confirm we can help.

Will solar work on my roof?

Most roof types and orientations are suitable for solar. Our SAA-accredited designers use professional modelling software to assess shading, orientation and tilt, then design a system to maximise your output.
