Balmain: 3.3kW solar + 33kWh battery, 85% self-powered

3.3kW solar + 33kWh GoodWe battery on a heritage Balmain terrace — 85% self-powered and full-house backup.

Balmain solar and battery installation by Solterra Electrical
Inner West · case study

The brief

This Balmain household had high energy use but, like many inner-west terraces, limited roof space. They wanted to slash their power bills and keep the whole home running during blackouts.

What we installed

We fitted 7 high-efficiency Jinko Tiger Neo panels to make the most of the available roof, paired with a large 33.28 kWh GoodWe battery and a 10kW hybrid inverter configured for full-house backup. The big battery means almost all the solar generated is stored and used on-site rather than exported cheaply.
